"Powder" had a relatively quiet release just before media blitzed "Phenomenon" with John Travolta.
"Powder" is really good, well paced storytelling.
Exceptional performances, good casting, big budget production
values and appropriate FX add up to a real winner.
A fine soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith completes the magic.
"Powder" balances ample "edge" with it's subtle, sensitive plot about a shy young man
who exhibits some extraordinary powers due to an event before birth.
A scene in which Lance Henriksen's character and his wife share
some Powder 'power', gets me every time.
